Engineering Building and Classrooms

Ultra-modern engineering facility.

The space in the Engineering Building was designed to be both efficient and aesthetically pleasing, including the state-of-the-art, hands-on engineering labs where faculty and students work together on real-life projects.

There is a fabrication or ‘maker’ space where students can work with local companies, helping them develop possible new products. Unique features include study rooms, or ‘pods,’ where students can break out for individual or group study work.

The ultra-modern Engineering Building, both efficient and aesthetically pleasing, includes a mechatronics lab, mechanical engineering lab, pod-style computer lab,  study pods for privacy and collaborative classroom spaces.

Classroom 103 in the engineering Building is a 25 seat classroom with moveable chairs that allow an instructor to configure the room in the best instructional layout for their needs.  Desks can easily be moved into collaborative group configurations or be arranged in a more traditional lecture-style layout using rows.

Environmentally Friendly

Like any other University construction or renovation project, the Engineering Building features energy-efficient systems such as natural gas for the building automation system (BAS), occupancy sensors to adjust temperature outputs, and LED lighting with motion sensors.

See Engineering Building construction photos.

In addition to the Mechanical Engineering program, the Engineering Building at Penn State Scranton houses the Center for Business Development and Community Outreach and the University Police office.
