Six faculty members at Penn State Scranton earn promotions

Penn State recently announced its list of academic promotions for tenured, tenure-line and non-tenure-line faculty members across all campuses, effective July 1, 2025. Six faculty members at Penn State Scranton earned promotions.

DUNMORE, Pa. — Penn State recently announced its list of academic promotions for tenured, tenure-line and non-tenure-line faculty members across all campuses, effective July 1, 2025.

At Penn State Scranton, the following faculty members have received tenure-line promotions:

  • Agnes Kim, promoted to professor of physics
  • Beatriz Rivera-Barnes, promoted to professor of Spanish
  • Asif Ud-Doula, promoted to professor of physics

The following faculty members at Penn State Scranton have received non-tenure-line promotions:

  • Gina Gray, promoted to associate teaching professor of kinesiology
  • Jody Griffith, promoted to associate teaching professor of English
  • Melissa Labuda, promoted to associate teaching professor of human development and family studies

Penn State Northeast Regional Chancellor Elizabeth J. Wright recognized the promoted faculty members for their dedication to academic excellence and student achievement.
