Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Education Program Specialist Jo Ann Durdan, in the campus' Center for Business Development and Community Outreach, has been named the October Employee of the Month.

Penn State Scranton's Science Suite features biology, chemistry and physics lab spaces with high-tech equipment and features. On Tuesday, Oct. 6, the campus' science faculty are hosting a special Welcome Event aimed at showcasing the different areas to students and the campus community that will feature a scavenger hunt, an opportunity to interact with faculty and refreshments.

Mama Coach Ashli Daley, R.N., FJS Quarterhorses Founder/Owner Franceska Sweeney, and Founder/Owner of KKPR Marketing and Public Relations Katrina Foster are three campus alumnae who opted to carve out their own niche and start their own businesses.

Throughout the semester, Counseling Services will host special events focused on a variety of relevant issues, from suicide awareness to self-defense to fitness-based wellness. The events came out of campus polling done last year regarding what types of counseling and wellness programming students wanted to have available.
