Penn State Scranton inducted 20 new members into the campus' Tri-Alpha First-Generation Honor Society during a special ceremony held at the campus earlier this semester. The new inductees received their membership certificates and graduating seniors received their honor cords that they will wear at graduation.
Student organizers of a car show planned for April 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Penn State Scranton hope to raise at least $2,000 to establish a fund to support mechanical engineering students' participation in national competitions, professional conferences and technical projects. Admissin is $20 per car for participants and $5 for spectators.

Asif ud-Doula, professor of physics at Penn State Scranton, was recently selected for the Fulbright Specialist Program. He will collaborate closely with faculty and students at Dong Thap University in Cao Lanh, Vietnam, where he will lead workshops, lectures and training sessions designed to strengthen science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and research. The project focuses on improving teaching methodologies, expanding research collaboration and helping modernize STEM curricula.
