Certified Production and Inventory Management Prep Course
The APICS® CPIM® is the global standard education credential program of the Association of Supply Chain Management, ASCM.
Every ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system uses business rules originating from CPIM's® body of knowledge. Earning an APICS® CPIM® certification shows employers that as a professional you know how to effectively manage risks and disruptions, as well as leverage technology that uses data and streamline processes.
CPIM® Prep Overview
CPIM® focuses on the mastery of an organization's internal operations and provides an in-depth understanding of the Fundamentals of Demand Management, Plan Supply, Executing the Supply Plan, Inventory Management, Continuous Improvement and Quality Management and Technologies, Strategy and S&OP and provides the knowledge to apply this information across the extended supply chain.
Online Certification Prep Course
APICS CPIM 8.0 prep course is one 48-hour, instructor-led online program (12 weeks). To earn a CPIM designation, the student must pass one exam covering 8 modules of content (exam is not included in registration fee).
This online program, taught by Penn State approved and APICS® certified instructors, is being offered in collaboration with other campuses of Penn State thru online video, classes are originated at Penn State Scranton.
- Dates: January 22 - April 18, 2026 (No class 4/2 & 4/4)
- Days & Times: Thursdays, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. (EST)
- Delivery: Online Instructor-led training via Zoom
- Registration Deadline: January 13, 2026 to receive hardcopy materials in time. Digital downloads will be available.

The APICS CSCP credential is ideal for current or aspiring supply chain professionals seeking to advance their careers. This credential empowers professionals with a comprehensive understanding of operations, global supply chain networks, customer and supplier relationships and supply chain risk and resilience.
Key topics covered: Supply Chains, Demand Management and Forecasting; Global Supply Chain Networks; Sourcing Products and Services; Internal Operations and Inventory: Forward and Reverse Logistics; Supply Chain Relationships; Supply Chain Risk; and Optimization, Sustainability and Technology .
