New Student Orientation (NSO) 2

August 19, 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

New Student Orientation Part 2 is a student-only event designed to help you get to know people and become comfortable with the transition to college life prior to beginning classes on August 22, 2022.

You’ll have the opportunity to meet and interact with fellow students, faculty and staff, and we’ll provide you with important information about the University and the Scranton campus. This is the initial First Year Seminar for the 2022 Fall semester and students are expected to attend. Student ID will be required.

New Student Orientation is an interactive event open to new students and their families designed to introduce them to campus resources and student services at Penn State Scranton. New Student Orientation topics include:

  • Review of academics at Penn State
  • Information regarding advising and course scheduling
  • Financial aid and billing
  • Student services

Complete these steps before attending New Student Orientation:

  1. Work through your  NSO Task List at orientation.psu.edu/NSO
  2. Take the ALEKS Math Placement assessment if required, available in your LionPath student account

First Year Students

Check your NSO Task List at orientation.psu.edu/NSO for NSO dates scheduled throughout the Summer.

Transfer Students

You will receive information regarding optional in-person or virtual NSO sessions. Please check the email you provided in your Penn State application for additional details as well as your registration link.
