'FaceAge' exhibit coming to Worthington Scranton campus March 29

Penn State Laureate Andrew Belser will present his award-winning multimedia exhibition, “FaceAge,” at Penn State Worthington Scranton on March 29. The family-friendly exhibit and presentation are open to the public.

According to Marko Marcinko, Penn State School of Music’s director of jazz studies, one of the biggest challenges as an educator is relaying the importance of rehearsal time. “You cannot just talk about it,” he said. “You must work the craft in practice and in performance. Only then can you achieve expertise.”

Worthington Scranton Chorale and Jazz Band entertain twice this holiday season

The Penn State Worthington Scranton Chorale and Jazz Band, along with the Roc[k]tets, will continue its annual tradition of performing holiday music for the campus and local community. Two concerts will take place: one at the Living Christmas Village at Grace Bible Church in Dunmore at 4 p.m. on Dec. 3, and another at the campus' The View Cafe at noon on Dec. 6.

PSWS hosts Scranton Reads lecture on Marilynne Robinson's 'Gilead'

Penn State Worthington Scranton will host a lecture and discussion lead by Joseph Kraus, professor of English at The University of Scranton, at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the campus' Business Building, Hawk Lecture Hall. He will be reading from Marilynne Robinson’s American Version of "Gilead." This event is free and open to the public, as well as the campus community.

Alumni to offer 'A Night of Penn State Jazz' Oct. 26 in Wilkes-Barre

Penn State alumni representing four northeast regional campuses — Hazleton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre and Worthington Scranton — will be offering “A Night of Penn State Jazz” on Oct. 26 at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre. The concert, featuring Penn State’s Centre Dimensions jazz ensemble, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
