Latino student club grows in popularity with focus on diversity and inclusivity

Since its formation last year, Penn State Scranton's Student Organization of Latinos has quickly become one of the most popular groups on campus, with a membership of 60-plus students and growing. The group co-sponsored a successful virtual celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month with a signature event featuring a guest speaker, campus alumnus and Brazilian immigrant Allan Souza, as well as a presentation by the group’s officers.

Honors program event focuses on international student perspectives

Recently, the campus honors program hosted a presentation featuring the unique cultural perspectives of four foreign-born students: Christian Toussaint, a junior originally from Haiti; Fagr Mahana, a sophomore from Egypt; Huynh (Quinn) Nguyen, a sophomore from Vietnam; and Nimrod Chapo, a freshman from Israel.
