Worthington Scranton to host third annual MLK Day event

Penn State Worthington Scranton will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with its third annual MLK Day Luncheon and Excellence in Diversity Awards ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, in The View Cafe. Afterward students, staff and faculty will be going out into the community to participate in a variety of volunteer efforts.

Anti-racist author/educator Tim Rice to speak at Penn State Worthington Scranton

On April 12, Tim Wise, author of seven books, including his highly-acclaimed memoir, "White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son," will be speaking at Penn State Worthington Scranton. He will enlighten the public on racism in America, law enforcement, and the Black Lives Matter Movement.

Diversity Circles foster understanding and acceptance of others at PSWS

Since January, Martin Lacayo, Penn State Worthington Scranton's coordinator of multicultural programs and development, and Karin Machluf, assistant professor of psychology, have been co-facilitating weekly diversity circles on campus to promote a greater understanding and acceptance among members of the campus and local communities.

Diversity Talk: My Life, My Story

Penn State Worthington Scranton's first "Diversity Talk: My Life, My Story" seminar, featuring the life stories of two campus students, will take place at 3 p.m. on Feb. 8 in The View Café. It is the first of a two-part series this semester.
