Educational Series - Online Fall Events
Our students, staff, and faculty work together with the Office of Multicultural Programs to plan virtual educational and cultural events throughout the fall semester that recognize and celebrate the rich, multicultural fabric of our campus.
Hispanic and Latino Community Celebration
Sept. 25 at 2:00 PM
The campus will continue its observance of Hispanic Heritage Month with a virtual presentation by the leaders of the Student Organization of Latinos. The group will discuss its mission and some of its recent initiatives and accomplishments. Other highlights will include a talk by campus alumnus Allan Souza and a presentation by the Admission staff.
National Coming Out Day with the LGBTQA+ Community

The campus’ LGBTQA+ Club will celebrate National Coming Out Day during this virtual event. The group’s leaders will discuss the club’s mission, initiatives and recent achievements, as well as the significance of National Coming out Day. There will also be a short online poll/game, remarks by Assistant Professor of Psychology Doyle Tate and a presentation by the Admission staff.
Veterans Appreciation Day
Nov. 11 at 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.
The campus will kick off two days of veterans-themed programming with a virtual recognition and appreciation for our veterans from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. on Zoom. The event will include remarks by Enrollment Specialist Stacy Shattuck and IST Lecturer and Marine Corps veteran Fred Aebli, as well as a slide show, a video gun salute, and performances of Taps and the National Anthem.
Veterans Educational Workshop

On Thursday, Nov. 12, the campus will present a Veterans Educational Workshop from 5:45 to 7 p.m. The workshop will include presentations by Coordinator of Career Services Jon Tobin and Enrollment Specialist Stacy Shattuck, as well as a Q&A centered around student perspectives.
Coming Together to Celebrate Indian Diwali and Navratri

The campus’ Indian Student Association (ISA) will come together to celebrate Diwali and Navratri. In addition to discussing the significance of the holidays, group leaders will talk about ISA’s mission and lead attendees in a short game of Kahoot. The event will also include remarks by campus Coordinator of Diversity Dharti Ray and members of the Admission staff.
