The aim of the campus cheerleaders is to promote school spirit on campus. At the beginning of the fall semester, candidates participate in practice sessions for tryouts. New members will be required to learn stunts, chants and jumps. The cheerleading squad at Penn State Scranton is co-ed. The squad cheers for the men's basketball team, traveling throughout Pennsylvania, along with participating in many other events in the community.
Bowling is lifetime sport that you can carry with you forever. That is why Co-Ed Club Bowling is offered at Penn State Scranton -- to enhance the experience of students and adult learners alike. Club bowlers build lasting friendships with others who enjoy the sport while traveling across Pennsylvania to compete against other colleges. Club Bowling is a member of the EPCC (Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference and the PCAA (Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association).
The co-ed intramural program is a recreational athletic program available to all students, faculty and staff members. Intramural games are played on campus.
Co-ed activities include:
- Six-person soccer
- Bench press
- 100-mile club
- Turkey Trot
- Flag Football
A student who is participating on a college varsity athletic team whose season runs simultaneously with the IM program may not participate in that particular IM. All players participating in intramural sports must be on their team roster; new members may be added, providing they are in good standing and have been added (24) hours prior to participating.
