Mathematics Endorsement Program

A program endorsement indicates knowledge in new and emerging areas where formal certification does not exist. An endorsement program is intended to improve an educator’s skills in dealing with complex educational issues. An endorsement is added to a teacher’s existing Level I or Level II certification.

The Mathematics Coach Endorsement (MCE) Program is a Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDOE) approved program. The program endorsement documents knowledge in new and emerging areas where formal certification does not exist. The program is intended to improve a teacher’s mathematics content knowledge, instructional strategies, and leadership skills to support the professional growth of his or her colleagues, and promote high-quality mathematics instruction leading to enhanced student learning.

The MCE consists of 12 credits, and can be taken alone or in conjunction with the Master of Education in Teaching and Curriculum or the Principal’s Certification program.
